Update: Bing Travel Appears to Be Up and Running

I was able to access Bing Travel today, July 4, around 2:30 p.m. EST.

There's still no word on why a power outage in one facility took the travel site down for a day and a half.

I guess Bing Travel loyalists can resume using its flight search tools and won't look, as previously advised, to travel partner Orbitz first.

The travel link to Bing Travel on the Bing home page also has been restored.

Hopefully, Bing Travel will stay up, with the problem resolved.

Happy 4th everyone. Could someone pass me a beer?

I haven't tried Bing Travel out yet, but have you heard anything on when (if) Microsoft will launch a UK version?

Unless I am missing something it does not really add anything new to an already crowded flight/hotel search/comparison market.

Thanks for the (warm) beer, Darren. Ya, Bing Travel is something different and not just the same old, same old. Check out Bing Travel's Fare Predictor stuff http://www.bing.com/travel/about/howAirPredictions.do I haven't heard when (not if) they will launch in the U.K., though.
